Re-finish an Enzo Trapper Sheath?

I love my Enzo Tapper, and like the sheath, but I hate the finish on the sheath. It's a medium tan, with no character in my opinion. I would love to have it with a nice mottled dark brown with black highlights. Is it possible to strip the original finish somehow, and re-finish?

At Tandy they have what they call a "Deglazer" used to strip finishes off of leather goods. I would start with a couple treatments of that.
When you dye it with a tan or light brown, you probably won't get a real even finish result.....I bet.....so you'll probably end up with just the look you want.
Then a coat of whatever leather finish.......neetsfoot oil, etc......and you're good to go.
