REALLY local, Masemore Bridge on Masemore RD, in Gunpowder Falls SP/Prettyboy Dam MD

I know we have some MD residents on here, anyone been out to Masemore RD/Masemore bridge. Some beautiful trails, one of which goes all the way to Shawan rd to the south. Great fishing too. Not too far from I83, if I've been in traffic all afternoon, I stop by here to "unwind" on a hike.

Nice spot SHS! I haven't been there, but i would love to check it out. Nothing better for me than hiking with an occasional stop to fish a little.

For unwinding, the better half and I do a lot of walking on the C&O canal trail. Lots to choose from with 184 miles between Cumberland and Georgetown in D.C.

In the same area is the Mckee-Beshers wildlife area off river road. Good for hawk and owl spotting.

Nice looking trails. I will have to give it a shot sometime. Nice to see others who live close.
 
It's in the Hereford zone, not too hard to get to. I literally almost drove right through the area. Easy trails. Drove through the other day, but it was pouring buckets. Just got over being sick with a bad stomach and respiratory issue, didn't need to get sick again.
 
I am familiar with the area, having done several canoeing day trips on the Gunpowder with friends. We almost always start at Masemore. It is a very nice area. I am always pleased to find so much beauty so close to the interstate.
