reason for a new JK knife

OK, so I have gotten the "you now have enough knives" look/ chit chat. I have one JK, gave one to my brother, and have two JK knives on order. That almost takes care of my "need" list. SOOOO, I need a reason that sounds believable for another knife, specifically, a 5 " Hudson Bay with Scandi Grind.

Some possible excuses... I mean reasons
1. I'm trying to do our part for the economic recovery.
2. The Hudson Bay is historically accurate and will help teach the three year old history while preparing dinner
3. the Movie Return of the Zombies was based on a true story

Any other suggestions I am missing?

Hi danc -

Are we talking to a spouse or a parent?

Some possible replies would be:

"I'll let you know when I am done buying knives."

or

"This is my hobby, and I am selectively building a collection of knives that make me happy."

or

"It's my money and as long as the kids are eating and have new shoes, I'll buy myself a knife once in a while."

Luckily, my wife is good with my hobbies, and supports me in my pursuits.

If you are buying on someone else's dime, then you have to be more negotiable about your spending I would think.

best regards -

Eating AND have new shoes !!! As long as they are eating go ahead and buy a knife, you can use it to make them some sandals from old car tyres !;)

It is the Bride I am talking with, and we met on a crime scene, she was the forensic tech.... So She can kill me in my sleep, hide the body, and still make it appear a suicide... so I am inclined to listen a little. Which leads to another possible.... It can be used to clear any debris on the next outdoor scene, the wide blade could help collect fibers....

Just tell her that you don't want much but what you do want it would be nice if you could have it because it's what makes you happy. You could also bargain with her and let her get something that she wants that would be the equivalent; shoes, cloths, jewelry, forensics supplies, David Caruso style glasses...you know, things that she diggs:-)

John's Hudson Bay knives are terrific in the kitchen. The first thing I did with my 7" HB was use it to prep a huge batch of chilli.

So, get yourself a HB and introduce it to her by making a nice home-cooked dinner. ;)

All the best,

- Mike

LISTEN WOMAN.........I'm in charge and I do what I want.

(While she's laughing I place online order quickly)

knives are cheaper than another woman on the side or a ****ing boat! :D

Add this to your list.
4. Don`t tell her you are buying a knife, tell her you are adopting a 56 year old, (soon to be 57) and need to send money.

So when I send you the check for the next two knives, do I get a picture to put on my fridge that indicates I am sponsoring you? Remember, look sad in the photo!

I have a 5 inch hudson bay. Just tell her the truth . Tell her that The Hudson bay is just a great knife at a great price and this is not an impulse buy >You have done the research / read the reveiws this is the knife for you.

just tell her "that you had to buy it, it was on sale, and you saved a bunch of money!"

[forrest gump]my momma always told me "turnabout is fair play" [/forrest gump] :D
