recommendations for carbon fibre folder

Hi guys,

I am looking for a carbon fibre folder and would like to hear some recommendations. My preferences are a blade length of no more than 2.5 inches, no specific steel and geometry should be inclined toward cutting (sabre or hollow grinds etc). Linerlocks, button locks and framelocks (not possible with full CF) are fine.

Are there any advantages or disadvantages to full CF as compared to combination CF with titanium bolsters for example the MT Lightfoot design?

The knife will be a office EDC for light cutting, nothing abusive and the price should be no more than $250.

I would like to hear your recommendations and perhaps see some picturs if possible?

Thank you

The first thing that comes to mind is a bm940d2:

The blade on the 940 might be a tad longer than 2.5in but it is by no means something that would scare the sheeple.

The second knife that I think would fit the bill would be a william henry t12cf. I have one of these and it is Super nice. Again the blade is a touch longer that 2.5 but it the furthest thing from menacing.

William henry also makes some smaller knives in their carbon fiber series if it absolutely has to have a shorter blade.

WH T10CF is a sweet little knive. 2.625" blade length and only 1 ounce of weight.
A great dress knive and sheeple friendly.

Hi guys,

Thanks for the suggestions. The William Henry knives look tempting. I'll check it out.

I hope this knife will be the last....

you could hit ebay and look for a few spyderco knives. the delica has a 3 inch blade and is just an awesome knife. also, you can usualy catch a CF dragonfly there as well. both can be had for under a C note.

Gerber SL3.25 CF

I've been carrying one for 3 months now and although it's between 2 7/8" and 3 1/4" depending on how you measure the blade, it's ATS 34 and a really nice knife.

Also ditto on the WH fantastic knife, can't go wrong there.

Carbon fiber is my favorite scale material. I would strongly second the A.G. Russell CF lockback. If you can find one, a Brian Geyer custom linerlock in CF is great because they are actually cheaper than a William Henry. Also, I have a custom Obenauf with all CF scales (Mini Model 2) and it's a great knife. Finally, the new buttonlock William Henry's are fabulous! The buttonlock is sweet and they are as light as feathers.

I gotta go with a William Henry Black and Tan. That is one beautiful knife. Boron Carbide coated blade and gold colored screws.

Is the 2 1/2" limit for legal reasons? The special edition Delica CF Delica has a 3" blade, but the cutting edge is only 2 1/2". Steel is VG-10.

Not often that I like knives with coated blades, but I like that one.

There seems to be a bit of a trend here. It seems that William Henry have by far the most choices in CF knives with blades around 2.5". Here is another one.

This is the B5-CF and the B5-BT is the Tungsten DLC version. It has a 2.6" blade.
