Recovering a lost zip folder?

I got a new computer yesterday and today I was sorting everything out on my current one when I accidentally deleted a zipped folder containing pictures I REALLY want. I was positive there was nothing important in the folder I deleted which contained that subfolder, but I didn't remember until afterwards that I was wrong. I shift-deleted, therefore bypassing the recycle bin. Anyway, I stopped doing almost everything on the computer to prevent making things worse, launched about 5 recovery programs from a flash drive and none of them have been able to either find the folder or restore them for free. Does anyone have any advice or know of any programs to help me out? Right now I have the old harddrive installed as a slave drive on a temporary system so I can still access it and do whatever I need to.
