Thanks for looking! :)

There's some common sence for one's belt. Practical and decent handle to grip with.

Phillip's handles are incredible. I bought a larger knife from him and everyone it's shown to comments on the ergonomics. :thumbup:

Thanks Bufford and Warren. I see lot's of knives that look blocky and uncomfortable. I make my knives to be used, and I figure someones more likely to use it if it feels good. :)
I might as well say that my handle designs are influenced a lot by Bob Loveless and Walter Brend. I like their stuff. :)

Hey Ian, the email just came back. They're saying you don't have a yahoo account. ?? I'll try PM'ing you.

Fantastic design and size for all duties...great job!

Let us know if you make any more.

Is O1 or D2 an option?

Thank you, sir! I will definitely make more of these.
I've never used D2, but certainly could. O1 is certainly an option, and right now I'm experiementing with CPM M4.
Usually I only use full tangs with stainless. Maybe it's not that big a deal. What's your opinion on using carbon steel for full tangs? (In regards to maintainance)

Personally, I think carbon blade and full tang combo works a treat. Maintaining your knife is half the fun!

If I could design a perfect knife for my uses, it would be;

Using your design and size(s) above, with;

1/4" O1 stock, full tang
brown micarta handle
brown leather sheath with stone pocket on the front

A great all - rounder for camp duities!

Again, great knife mate.

Very nice looking knife. :thumbup: How difficult is it to forge 440C? What's the Rockwell on it?

Thanks guys for the comments!
Mick, 440C is definitely stiffer under the hammer than the carbon steels. This knife was forged from 1 1/4" round bar. I used a power hammer to reduce it to flat stock then forged it to shape by hand. The power hammer saves a LOT of time. :D
The hardness is 58 RC.

Just sent MO out this AM Phillip.

Thank you! I'll get the knife sent out first thing Monday morning.

BTW, I thought I'd post a couple pictures of the knife that yours is sort of descended from.

The steel is 1/8" 52100. I think I like having the extra finger groove like yours has. Doesn't move around in the hand so much.

Phil, got it today and haven't put it down. Thank you very much. Definitely my type of tool. I really, really like it. THANKS! :D
