Red Rouge Dust?

Stupid question, but does stropping by hand on a leather belt with red rouge create a steel dust or red iron oxide dust hazard?

I strop a lot of stuff in my room, just wondering if I got to worry about flying particles of hazardous material (I sleep in my room and spend a good 60% of my life there).

When I'm stropping on my leather belt, sometimes I think I can smell the steel if I put my nose near the belt and sniff.

Comrade- you weren't expecting a straight answer from this bunch, were you?

IMHO, on a strop it probably isn't too bad, on a high-speed buffer would be a different story.

Well, Richard. I actually was expecting a straight answer.

Does dust usually settle down at the carpet and just stay there?
