Hi folks -

A while back I saw a beautiful Buck 110 that Redrummd did for another member here. The Buck was so gorgeous that I contacted Redrummd and arranged to send a Case Trapper to him to have the same material crafted onto my Trapper.

I just received that knife today - and I took some pictures to share of the knife.

These pictures do not capture the real beauty of the piece, but they will suffice until I can get in some better light.

The scale material is Oregon Deschutes Pictured Jasper -

This is some real pocket jewelry - and a piece that I will be proud to own for the rest of my life.

Thanks for looking

best regards -

...wow...

:D

Michael does some beautiful work. He's got a 110 available that I'd jump on if I had the free funds.

From my knife photo records, here are a couple I took.... :D

What Kiah said, "Wow."

What a beauty!

That rock is amazing.
That looks fantastic.

I'm curious as to how those handle slabs are affixed to the knife body?

That sure makes for a gorgeous knife! Congratulations!

comoha - I use Locktite 325 and a very strict cleanliness protocol for good adhesion. I do not use oil in cutting the stone and do not oil the knife until all work is complete. I only handle the stone and knife with my hands gloved until the stone is adhered to prevent any oil contamination too.

In fact there is no getting the stone off intact once it is adhered. Not even boiling in water or heating the knife to well above 200 degrees will loosen the Locktite and even laquer thinner and acetone won't work. Believe me, I have tried. This adhesive only allows movement for about 30 seconds after mating the two surfaces so if I get a scale on a bit crooked I either have to trash the knife or finish it and sell it as an EDC (Every Day Carry) knife.

This adhesive is not well suited for woods, ivory or bone so it is a nitch adhesive pretty much suited to what I do.....
