AFTER PURCHASING AN OLD STYLE PIONEER AND A SIFU, REKAT HAS QUICKLY BECOME MY FAVORITE BRAND. I WAS LOOKING FORWARD TO PURCHASING MORE OF THEIR PRODUCTS BUT IN SOME OF THE POSTS I'VE READ REKAT'S Q.C. SEEMS TO BE A "HIT OR MISS" KIND OF THING. MISSING SCREWS, LOOSE BLADES, BLADES RUBBING AGAINST LINERS ETC. ARE THINGS THAT I HAVE'NT EXPERIENCED WITH EITHER REKAT I OWN. IN FACT,
BOTH KNIVES ARE SOLID, WELL BUILT AND PLENTY SHARP.
MY QUESTION TO THE REKAT FORUM IS:
SHOULD I HOLD OFF ON PURCHASING ANOTHER REKAT AT THIS TIME? ALSO, ARE THERE ANY MODELS IN PARTICULAR THAT SEEM TO HAVE MORE PROBLEMS THAN OTHERS?

Every once in a while we see a problem, BUT never something that could possibly equal a "failure in a fight" - which would be inexcusable.

Liner rub can be easily adjusted out yourself...we have written directions we can refer you to. The way REKATs are built, they can be fully field-stripped by the user.

I'd trust my life to my handground Sifu, or a current factory-made D2 specimen. Once in a while, one needs to go back to REKAT for fine tuning but they're fast and friendly about it. (shrug) They're a small company, what can you do...

Once you're sitting on a good one, you've got the best combat folder made today, period, end of story.

I wouldn't worry about REKAT's Quality Control. It seems they had a QC problem a few years back, but they have come a long way
since then! Buy whatever REKAT you like and if it isn't right, send it back and they will make it right! Take a look at the topic I just posted to get an idea of how REKAT treated me. I'm very happy with my REKAT knives, and their Customer Service.

I don't have any personal experience with REKAT QC or Customer Service, but from all that I've read on the Forums they're a safe bet. Most of the QC problems seem to be in the past, gone but not forgotten, and I've only heard good things about their Customer Service. If you want more REKAT knives, by all means, buy them! They make quality knives and they stand behind them.
