Recently I have had to use REKAT's customer service, and can report nothing but exemplary
service! The lock on my Carnivore was reaching the forward limit and was worn out. Now I want to make it clear the this was completely MY FAULT. I have taken the knife apart and subjected it to the Dremel tool and jewelers rouge to polish the lock and action. I E-mailed Bob Brothers at REKAT asking for a shipping address and if he could look the knife over and give me a repair estimate. I pointed out that I expected to pay for the repairs and it was MY FAULT, not REKAT's. Well Bob Brothers looked at my knife the same day he received it, replaced the lock and was able to get it out the same day with UPS! Bob Brothers also did it free of charge! REKAT could and should have charged me for this service since I violated the warranty. Does REKAT take care of their customers? Hell yes they do! I would personally like to take this opportunity to say thank you to Bob Brothers and REKAT. They went the extra distance to take care of my knife.

Glad to hear that some people still believe in the customer.

When you noticed it needed to be adjusted, was the lock slider all the way to the top end? My new green carnie came like that...very, very little space before it is at the top end when opened.

Whaddya think, send it back? To be without it....I dunno..lol. But, to have it close on my hand sometime...no good. Oy!!

Oh, did you ever get that Pioneer II?

Blacky,

The Pioneer II showed up Wednesday afternoon. I like it a lot! I originally bought the knife strictly for the knife drawer since they are discontinued. Now I'm thinking about grabbing another one for the drawer and carry this one. Don't know, I really like both my Carnivore and the Cub. So many knives and so few pockets.

My lock on the Carnivore was the same as yours. The locking bar was at the forward limit, I'm not sure if the knife would collapse, doubt it, I think some blade play would develop. The Rolling lock pin would still engage the notch on the blade preventing it from closing. Of course, there might be some blade play. Let us know what you decide. It must be tough to have to send in a knife you just bought.

But at least you do have a green Carnivore.

I still need to get one.
