As a boy growing up in a Sugar Mill, we used to make them from Y branches old tires inner tube and leather. We used stones or marbles for ammunition to hunt birds primarily squabs, this thread brought me back memories of tasty squab and rice dinners

I was going to break out the old folding wrist rocket for the Gathering. Lots of fun. There's a young guy at my work that just modded his to fire arrows and even added a laser for sighting.

Quite the fun toy with some real usefulness.

I bought a Truemark a few weeks ago for the BOB kit.
Haven't used it yet,but plan to when I go camping next.
My brother & I always had a sling shot as kids.
First the home made wooden ones with innertube bands, then wrist rockets.
I don't think we ever killed anything with one,but I plan on practicing with the Truemark
till I am proficient with it.
I can see a sling shot as a good foraging tool.

I've been thinking about making a plain ol' sling too.
Heck,it worked for David.......

Ordered it from a BF member-Bikermikearchery. Here's one my son and I made.

Made from a sheet of bullet proof wall lining-It was extra material from someone using it to line a safe-room. Cut it with a jig saw with metal cutting blade. It destroys wood blades. I'm guessing it's a fiberglass kevlar composition.
Just picked up some new blades so I'm going to make a couple more.
