I know, by internet standards the fitness challenge happened eons ago, but just today I remembered it, and am curious:

Those of you who took part, how did you fare afterwards?
I know some of you were preparing for physical fitness tests - did you pass?

Why I remembered? Well I'm still on it - and I'm close to hitting the 40 pounds loss mark. I didn't lose any weight last fall, but now I'm back at losing around a pound a week. (Yeah, I was way to slow to even come close to winning the challenge, but I wanted to go for lasting change with only subtle changes to my diet in a way I can keep the new diet up for good.
I eat much less fat and way more greens than before, but that came sort of naturally when I was counting calories. I still love meat, but usually I eat the leaner types.

Well done Luckykitty!
Im holding right at 200lb lately.

wow

but it somehow looks like you got more muscles on your arms than on your legs

(you know this whole thing really made me feel my age - all of a sudden I'm supposed to be a middle aged woman ... how did that happen?)

For a newby like myself, what was the challenge?

A thread promoting healthy lifestyle choices with a contest rewarding weight loss and changes in unhealthy living habits. Contestants received some great prizes courtesy of ESEE, Shotty and the crew.

I didn't really take part but I was working on dropping some weight. I'm down around another 30 lbs. From the time of the challenge and down about 60 from my peak weight.

We should probably have one after every holiday season! :-)

:D

Wow, that is quite impressive, well done!

I'm still at my goal weight a year later! 135/140. My pants size is down to the same size as my pre pregnancy (from my 1st!). When all was said and done I dropped 4 pants sizes. It was VERY worth it! Maintaining the weight is so much easier when you lose it the right way. Crowdog has a special place in my heart! I couldn't have done it without his coaching. :)

I'm still trying to lose some weight myself, have a "challenge" going with my wife, sister and folks.

I'm in the lead and will be scoring a new tent in a couple of months.

Ha! No. The wife and I just decided to make a change. We also had a couple friends that were having Gastric Bypass done, and we wanted to show them we could do it better without surgurey....And we did! My wife lost 80 pounds as well.

We have put on a few pounds back on since then, but we are getting back at it again.
