Remember this one from a short while back? Check out the questions and comments at the bottom.

The same guy listed the exact same thing yesterday morning with a Buy it Now of $125 plus shipping. I contacted him and also sent a link to the auction to Bill Keys at BKI. I'm not sure what worked, but today when I checked the listing again, here's what came up.

The sellers history doesn't even show it so we know it didn't sell.

2nd listing now shows as having been removed.

Maybe they smacked him back down for a bit.

I just had my son send him a question through the one completed listing that sold and asked why yesterdays listing was canceled and if he would be listing it again. I'm curious if we will get an answer.

I don't know that I had much to do with it other than sending the link to Buck. I'm currently exchanging messages with the seller and here's the first from him. I find it a little hard to follow.

"I certainly would hope to list again as there are several out there running under the radar it seems.
I am currently doing some investigating to learn more about why like items can be seperated for being
pulled. It comes down to individuals that desire to pull these things off more so than the million dollar
companies trying to find someone that may make 12 dollars on an item.Ebay will take my word most times
and yours if we turn someone in for any infraction without investigating properly and that is a sad thing
both ways, that an individual would stoop so low and a so called seller protected company not to be more
professional with their investigation.I have experienced this pulling of an item 3 times in 7 years and it
was a farse each time.It is sad to know that most anyone can join ebay and screw up a sellers ratings
by leaving negative feedback or turning them in for false listings and the list goes on.
If it looks like crap,is labeled crap, smells like crap and taste like crap...then most likely it is crap...
Same way with all the Buck Strider markings and box with USA ATS-34 and good pictures.Nothing at
all left out...You tell me how you can say it is a FAKE...See where I'm coming from?
Thanks for your interest and hav a knife day...wayne"

It sounds to me the seller just don't get it.It sounds to me like he knows their counterfeits but he should have the right to sell them regardless!

Last message from the seller, I still don't know what he intends to do.

"Dear plumberdv,

You have been more helpful in a paragraph than any other thing I have read.I did not buy from an ebay
member direct from Hong Kong because of shipping costs. One just sold from a registered ebay site in
china for around 100 bucks. If I buy from this or from another ebay member in china and resell on ebay
and get busted?? and it is the usa strider without a box, the pics on zoom showed usa..
You can certainly see my point and wording is the key factor and I am going to remain up front with my
descriptions and pictures and take my chances on selling and paying echoke their %'s..You have been most
helpful and I thank you for your time...wayne"

Does anyone know when Buck started using the laser marking process on any of their knives? These fakes are laser marked instead of being stamped and knowing when the laser was first used might help convincing some of these sellers that think they have the real thing.

Sounds like he knows it's fake and is trying to justify it in his sad little mind. I would be he has a pile of them in his closet that he paid $5 each.

Sad thing is that people will buy this crap and then talk trash about Buck when they fail.

Next message, he still just doesn't get it. I does appear that he has contacted or tried to contact Buck.

"Dear plumberdv,

I understand and can appreciate the loyal stand you and others are taking. On the other hand Buck does import and these 888s and 889s have proven to be worth the money according to the few I have talked with about them that use them.I am not a hunter or survivalist as such so I do not have first hand knowledge.I too am a vet from the Viet Nam era and a red blooded christian country boy that is caught for the moment between the rock and a hard place. It's tough to deal with imports but if there is a market for them [ and there is a large one for sure ] then what can one do except cash in on the few bucks needed. The entire purpose of businesses such as most major knife companies and musical instrument companies like Martin,Fender and Gibson was to compete with themselves because the American made items were too costly for the average joe.I don't think it was all greed motivated but a way to survive given the circumstances passed to us from our own government.I will anxiously wait to see what reply if any I get from Buck in the next week or so.
Thank you for your time today concerning this matter...wayne"

Gibson doesn't make any guitars in China, but there's a huge number of fake Chinese Gibsons on the market. We bust the sellers all the time, but there's too many people who think they can really buy a $3000 guitar for $300. The seller responses are just the same as this guy, "Well, it says USA on it, how could it be fake?"

The seller has contacted Buck because that's the next step in the process.

The Verified Rights Owner (VeRO) Program allows intellectual property rights owners to ask eBay to remove certain listings that offer items or contain materials that infringe on their intellectual property rights. These rights can include trademark, copyright, and/or other legal rights.

For example, a rights owner may ask eBay to remove an item being sold that uses the rights owner's trademark (such as a logo on a designer purse) if the item is not an authentic product of the rights owner. This program helps protect eBay members from buying or selling items that may be counterfeit or otherwise unauthorized under state and/or federal law.

Before a listing is removed, the rights owner must give us information that ensures that the person reporting the item is authorized to do so. It also allows us to correctly identify the listing to be removed. If your item is reported, you'll receive an email notifying you that a VeRO participant requested your listing be removed.

We require the rights owner to provide us with an email address so you can contact them directly for more information about why your listing infringes their intellectual property rights. You can find the rights owner's email address in the email you received when your listing was removed.

What if it turns out that Buck did indeed produce the knife in question?

Both fakes and authentic Bucks are now being marked with lasers instead of real stamps.

How can anyone guarantee that the knife in question wasn't part of some smaller run marked with lasers?

We all know how many weird and unrecorded things happen at Buck.
