Replacing ZT 0350 Torsion Bar

went to go open my ZT 0350 today, when it didnt snap open i knew the torsion bar had broken. :( oh well. glad i requested the part a couple months back :D

all the parts out, ready to disassemble.

at this point, i thought the spring wouldnt fit! but, i realized i had to have the blade open slightly, took me awhile. but i finally figured it out.

I would like to point out for others that if you want to take your 0350 apart (or any other Speedsafe) be sure and open it before beginning.
Matt was replacing the torsion bar so there wasn't any tension so being closed didn't make a difference.

Excellent tip, that will definitely save someon's eye balls. ;)
 
I am sorry to dig this up, I know it is old but I wanted to thank the OP and everyone else who posted here. This thread was very helpful; I just replaced my torsion bar.

On a funny note, I should have read the advice regarding putting the knife back together before stressing the bar and eye protection. The torsion bar sprung out and almost hit me in my eye. :D
