Is the old Crawford neck knife suitable for utility?

it is. I have the early version: overall length 15 cm, blade length 7 cm, solid, very sharp, Kydex sheath. It's a flat very handy neck carry package.
You can carry it under a t-shirt and no one will see it.
I've handled the new version too. This knive has the same features as the older one, thumb serrations for a better grip and handle holes like Pat's Leopard folders. It's a little beauty !
