I recently purchased an Emerson Sark, and i came to bladeforums and also went to knifeforums to find reviews on it, and didn't seem to find any...could someone post his/her thoughts on the knife, or if the reviews already exist, could someone point me in the right direction?

I have used mine a little, but haven't put it through any really hard tests yet. It slices seatbelts like butter and the wave is awesome. The lockup is tight and no play at all.I'll have more info as soon as I get the opportunity to push it to the max.

9engine, have you used a screwdriver to loosen up the blade before??
I did, and I found that after that the blade just has this wobble, so if you hold the blade tip when it is closed, and you bobble the blade from side to side, the blade feels very loose to me...is this normal??

After I had mine for about a week,it became so loose you could deploy the blade just by flicking your wrist really hard. It was then that I noticed the blade wobble from side to side.I tightened it up just a hair with the screwdriver and now there is no play at all and it opens just as smooth. I guess it was all that practicing of the "Wave Draw" I was doing.I suppose they all have their "break in period" after which you must get the settings back to your personal standards by adjusting as you see fit.If some adjustment to the screw doesn't fix yours, check over on the Emerson forum for more info.

When i tighten mine, i face this situation:
if I tighten it up too tight, the blade will scrape on the liner lock-liner. If I leave it loose, the blade feels so loose that it sometimes scrapes on the liners as well. This does not affect the performance of the knife, but I would hate to see scratches on the BT coating after a couple of months of carry. I like it to have that kind of "mint" look.
also, I realised something, if you deploy your SARK, then slowly close back the blade, you might realise that the blade tip gets very close to the liner just before closing, then moves away from it again when it closes. Any reason why you think this is so??

linjunpei, I would guess that what you see is the knife closing all the way, then being pulled back out very slightly by the detent engaging the hole in the blade. If you press on the blade, or open it very slowly, you might be able to feel the detent catching or slipping, and be able to feel what I mean.

AHAH Burke~!
thanks!!...I think that's it...I never thought about the ball detent....thanks for the information...
another thing I would like to know is what do you all feel is the safest locking system in all the knives you guys/ladies ever had...be it custom knives, or production knives..

You're most welcome. My current favorite folder lock is the Spyderco Compression lock. I've also had a few Rolling Lock folders, with no complaints. I think the Axis lock is at least as good as this. between the three I prefer the Compression lock for its simplicity.

Compression Lock?? Which Spyderco features thuis lock?? is it a new locking system, or is it the rocker bar lock??
