I'm interested in a good carbon-steel backpacking knife. Cold Steel Bush Ranger seems like a good choice, but I don't like the coating.

Does anyone own a SOG Recon Gov? If so, please lend me your thoughts on the out-of-box sharpness, edge-holding, and handle ergonomics. I've owned a SOG SEAL before, like everything except the lousy 440A steel.
