Who has one? What do you think? Looks pretty heavy duty. How are the ergonomics?

Thank you. Do you plan on getting one?

When I saw the proto 2 years ago, I wasn't too keen on the blade shape. I liked the handle. It was very comfortable in the hand. Well, the blade shape has grown on me knowing what JAK has in mind and the reputed strength of the lock has me impressed.

It's on my very short list of folders.

I have one. It's one very thorough knife!
This time I'm working on my review, think it will be ready in the nearest time.

Dennis,

As a defensive knife, the Chinook can cut in one direction and cut back (more like rip) in the other direction, without turning the wrist. The upturned tip and the top swedge (which probably can be sharpened right at the tip and still be safely covered when folded) facilitates penetration and ripping. This is akin to the "backcut" with the larger bowies.

Of course, if one is going anticipates such a possible use of the tip, that reputed strength of the lock becomes all that much more important.

I just ordered one. It should be here next week.

Hummmmm Personally I think the blade is rather "werd" looking at first. This is not a jack of all trades knife but a speciality blade designed as a defensive blade. Jerry VanCook thinks highly of this blade and that's enough for me

Yep it's a strange looking blade for sure However, the more I read about it the more it grows on me. For some reason the blade design seems to grow on me the more I look at it, wish I could fondle one to see how it fits my hand. Think someday I might just have to get one.

Dennis,

Where did you ordered from? Who has them available besides the Spydie Collectors?
