Exciting things happening at Spyderco this year. I have purchased three new knives since the first of the year; Wally World Native S30V, Delica4 and Endura4 (both from KnifeWorld). I am a retired old fart with enough money (3 pensions!) to buy any knife I want, but these three knives have made me rethink my EDC. Current uniform: Dockers and cotton shirt. Current T&O Weapon: Digital Camera or Digital Video Camera. Current MOS: Grandpa.

So check out the evolution of EDC.

Ren-Waxed and retired to felt case and bragging rights with good old boys:
Military
Mannix
Griptilion
AFCK
Mini AFCK
CQCK7
Gerber Michael Walker International

EDC:Stropped razor sharp, Tuff Glided and carried in Magilla Pocket Holster:

Tennessee - Endura 4 (Helluva fine knife, sturdy and keen)
Kentucky- Native S30V (Looks little and harmless when closed)
Illinois (Grandkids!) - Delica4 (Under 3" and looks elegant, not scary. Improvements move it into real knife category)

Any of the big, more expensive knives can do any one chore better, but the three chosen meet the grade in everything I carry a knife for.

Spyderco rules!

"MOS: Grandpa" Thats funny.

I agree, for the money, Spyderco makes a great EDC. Hell, even compared to some more expensive knives Spyderco is a great EDC.

As a "Grandpa", you are really obligated to get a Spyderco Kiwi.

 Yup, looked at the jigged bone Kiwi. Definite grandpa knife. Great for opening up presents and such. Could put it in left pocket with M&Ms and Lifesavers (mandatory grandpa stuff). I'll have to get one just for the Christmas and birthday runs to Illinois.

Welcome to the forums Grampa! HEHE!

Your post is fantastic! It is good to hear how well Spyderco serves a high speed low drag grandfather while on duty. I crave a Manix (I like larger folders) and I'll be interested in the "Military 2" if and when that comes out in a few years.

But for now, I agree abot what Spyderco has done. The Endura 4 and Delica 4 are an amazing amount of knife for the money (as is the Native). Way to go Spyderco!
