Richard Batson

Do you mean Jim Batson, knife maker from AL? If so, last I heard he was alive and well.

I've never heard of a Richard Batson.

Richard Batson was/is a maker who dealt almost exclusively with the military guys. I haven't seen much written about him, but I understand his out put was small, I've never seen one of his pieces for sale.

Richard Bastson was/is an excellent maker who made quite a few knives for guys from the 75th ranger regiment in the early to mid 90s. Was featured a couple of times in Fighting Knives and SOF magazine. Made a knife called the Ranger, which is a 7" blade of 01 tool steel. I have one, an excellent knife. Quite a few guys carried his blades to Central/South America during the eighties to early nineties. Last talked to him in 91, would also really like to know what has happened to him. Would like to hear from anyone who knows.

I haven't heard anything about Richard Batson in a long time, but I do think he is still alive. He lives/lived in Rixeyville, VA. Phone number was 540-937-5932.
