The below isn't a question but just something that happened this weekend which sheds some light about why saving your pennies and buying quality is its own reward.

I and a buddy were studying last night on campus, burning the midnight oil. About 0200 in the morning, my buddy asks me if I have any money as he wants to try out the new high-speed gourmet coffee machine downstairs. More concerned with the material in front of my that my common sense, threw him my wallet and told him to get me a cup as well, as my Nissan Stainless had long gone dry. About five minutes later my buddy comes back, walks in sets my wallet on the table and sits down. "Out of order?" "No." "So where's our coffee?" "In the machine still."

At this point I look up and give him that look that says start explaining. As it turned out, my buddy had put a ten dollar bill in the thing instead of a one, and it became lodged while the machine tried spitting it back out. He says all this with a straight face, and after he finishes I stand up, and simply say that I am going downstairs to get my bill. On inspecting the dollar slot via a photon light, I could easily see it doubled over in the slot, but just out of reach of anything sort of a fine hemostat. Not carrying a hemostat with me, as not used to doing vascular work late at night, and highly perturbed by the whole situation at this point, and the slot lips were made of some kind of plastic. Out comes the Kozuka, and the cutting begins. That little knife cut through the top lip in no time, and I reclaimed Hamilton. No small feat for a small knife, and what amazed me not only was the ease in which I had removed the lip, but that the blade was not scratched in the process at all! I don't know what RJ Martin does to his A2, but it works! Bugger still shaves!

Anyway, I am not advocating testing you new blades on vending machines,

just wanted to share a story about a satisfied owner of a blade that performs as a hand crafted cutting tool should.

I don't know whether to applaud or chastise.

There, I feel better. I know RJM's stuff is awesome, I've handled his Kozuka and owna Handiman, but I think slicing vending machines just adds fuel to the public anti knife mindset. A bent paper clip sounds like it would have also worked here. I think you'd better send me that Kozuka until you can be more responsible.
