Greetings all,

A recent piss-poor financial situation has pursuaded me to put this knife up for sale. It was one of the very few 'Tracker'-style knives that Mr. Hankins made a year or so ago, and is an interesting interpretation. The knife has been used, so it's no longer a virgin, but I've done my best to maintain it, and it has never been abused.

I'm going to post a couple of photos that I had taken of it when I first got it, so you guys can see what it looks like. I'll be putting up more current photos of it either tonight or tomorrow, so I can point out anything that might concern a possible buyer. I'll also edit this listing later on to give you more specs on the overall size, blade length, and thickness, when I get a chance to measure it up again. I can tell you that it's over 1/4" thick, and one hell of a brute! I would estimate it at having a 5 inch blade, and roughly 11 inch overall length. Again, I'll put the specifics of it up later tonight. If you can't wait for newer photos and information, just drop me an e-mail, and I'll see if I can shoot something over to you personally as quick as I can.

The asking price on this baby is $SOLD, which includes Priority Mail shipping & insurance to your door. I'm also requesting payment via Money Order on this one, and will give the buyer a 3-day inspection period on the knife so that you can return it if you're not satisfied with it's condition. Return postage and insurance will be the buyer's responsibility though, just so we're clear on that. Thanks for checking it out!

Hey Brendan,

The steel in this is 5160. As for shipping it to the UK, I've never shipped anything internationally, but a certain knifemaker friend of mine says it shouldn't be a problem when I asked him about it. So, I'm going to say it shouldn't be a problem, although I may require something additional in shipping.

I'd have to check into the costs involved, but I would only charge you the difference as opposed to shipping this within the U.S. I can work with you on this if you're interested.

whast the handle material and do you have better pictures of the recurved areas. would you consider part trades (not serious if you dont but I have a busse ba3 looking for a home)

Hey Brendan,

Give me a list of what specific photos you would like of the knife, and I'll take some tonight and e-mail them to you when I get home. I'm at work right now, so I don't have it in front of me. :p

The handle is black linen micarta, that was gun-blued to achive a very dark appearance. If there's one thing I really like about this knife, it's that it fits in your hand very comfortably. I have fair-sized hands though, so if you've got small-ish hands, you might not feel the same way. It's definitely a handful.

Oh, feel free to PM me your e-mail address for the photos if you like. I'm really in need of the cash for this one as well, otherwise I would normally be full-on for trades. I'm in a wee pinch, and this was the only one I could possibly bear to part with. Even stil... :(

I'd like to see the handle pins, the spine, the recurved section and the serrations.

sorry to be pain but I have been after a tracker for ages and been looking at hankins blades for somme time so it would be killing 2 birds with one stone !!

Hey Brendan,

No problem with your requests, I'll get some pictures over to you tonight. It'll be about 4 hours or so before I can get them to you though...still at work here.

The handle pins are nothing special, just standard pins. The spine is smooth, with no serrations or anything, but it's thick! As in; good luck breaking this puppy! The serrations are pretty much rippers, but are tapered to a point, rather than being flat at the top and full spine width.

Regardless, I'll shoot you those photos tonight.

Hey Brendan,

Sorry about getting back to you so late regarding the photos, but I've sent you an e-mail containing what you should need this morning.

Boy that is a sweet looking unit!. Two questions,

1) How does this relate in size to a TOPS Tracker?

2) Is the sheath pictured the only one it comes with?

Thanks
Yeti Man

Yeti Man,

This should help answer question #1:

As for question #2: Yes, the sheath pictured in the top photos is what you get. That's what I got it in, and I've never pursued anything else. Never needed to really. :p

I don't honestly have much of a frame of reference to compare the performance of this knife with. I mean, it's performance will be different than that of a regular knife, but it performs the tasks it's asked to quite well. As I said when I first listed it, I've used it very little since I got it. I think my hardest decisions always become which knife to take most times.

The saw, due to the design, isn't really a powerhouse on wood, but it works well on things like rope, sheeting, etc. The teeth come to a point, so you're not working with something that performs like a wood saw...as this was not intended when the knife was designed. YMMV.

This knife, like all 'Trackers', was designed to perform many tasks adequately. If you want 'ultimate' performance in a given situation, you're going to have to carry a few blades on you. If you want one knife that will do many things, and do them well, you've got an example right here.

The _only_ reason this knife is even up for sale, is because of a short-term financial situaion that I find myself in. It's one of a very small number that Robert made, more than likely less than 10, and stands as a nice interpretation of this style. There's only a limited window on this one guys, as if I get through this short period without selling it, she's getting pulled off the block. So, if you really want one of these, take advantage of my lack of better judgement...before I wake up. :p

edited to add: I have also decided that I will take PayPal payments on this one guys, and I'll eat the fees.

I'm going to consider this one sold pending funds guys!

I'll update if anything changes. Thanks for your attention everyone!

The knife has been sold to another party who contacted me via e-mail when the knife was first listed, Brendan.
