Been late getting this one posted.
Better late than never I guess. I'm making good progress on it but have a lot of other things going on too so its taken me some time to get to Rob's order. I've been four months getting to this one. Shouldn't be long now though Rob.
First shot is the blade on this one which is an ATS34 blade this time and at 61 Rockwell which should be for a nice edge keeper.
Second is kind of out or order but it shows the overall length on this one when I was marking the spot with my sharpie to put my thumb stud on the blade .
Third is the mapping out shot of all the interals and how she'll sit closed so I know where to put my lanyard.
Fourth is as its coming along right after brushing the finish witha gator belt before bead blasting and after installing the thumb stud. \
And the last one, pic number five is one I just took as it sits after working in the shop some today on it. As it sits now the bead blasted blade and body are matching up pretty darn good if I do say so myself. Still need to do the lock cuts to spring the lock, then make a low rider to fit so it doesn't block my lanyard hole. Heat treating the lock will be somewhere in there and I will be cutting some traction grooves in the .140 thick ti slabs for added thumb and index finger grippiness. Then its the down hill stretch to home plate. Hopefully it will continue to go smoothly. So far so good. This one weighs in currently at 5 ounces making it not only the longest Oup ever but the heaviest by quite a bit also. Way big for me but its what Rob wants and I figured I'd try it just to see how I like it. Not bad. Lots of knife here though.
