Just got my new Sifu. The action is head-and-shoulders above the action on my Carnivore. The Carnivore's action was really gritty, and overall very bad. The Sifu's is smooth and excellent. REKAT seems to have really improved in this area. Can't wait to put the Sifu through its paces.

Joe, I'm not sure which Carnivore you have,
but the Carnie I received from you guys(RED/Black #15/50) is great. The fit and finish is as good as any other knife I have handled. The action is smooth and locks up tight. My PioneerII needed some TLC. I disassembled and polished the mating surfaces,it is now super smooth. I really like both my REKATS.

Glad you like it!

We aim to please and so does Bob. Look for many more exciting projects from Bob and I soon.

Maybe a Turber designed knife?

Ditto Joe for the Sifu. I got a CF one from Knifeoutlet. Very smooth, and beautiful.

I think some time ago Carnivore was well-known for its grittiness (which many don't care). With this quality improvement I coudn't wait for a new D2 Carnivore.

Hope to hear more from Joe on his Sifu paces.

Dew.

Joe, I'm not sure which Carnivore you have,

Actually, after I got mine I started checking around, and every Carnivore I tried was gritty. As Dew points out, I wasn't the only one who noticed this -- it was pointed out many times on the forums. I noted that when I pulled back on the release, the action became very smooth, so it was definitely grittiness between the locking bolt and the blade tang.

On the other hand, I knew the Rolling Lock could work smoothly, because Crawford's Carnivore versions were very smooth. I'd guess REKAT figured out how to make the rolling lock smooth, maybe I have an earlier carnivore and you have a later one. Whatever the problem was, it appears to be gone.

The Sifu rocks. I got mine from Bob T at the recent Blade Show and have been playing with it ever since then. This one big strong brute of a folder with silky smooth opening-closing and solid lock up. The feel of the Sifu locked in your hand is unlike any other big folder. It puts a big smile on my face that conveys total confidence.

Hats off to REKAT.
