Rolling Lock problem

I recently recieved a Carnivore from a fellow forum member. I love the knife, but I'm not really pleased with the action of the rolling lock on this one. I'm pretty new to REKAT, so I don't know if this is common or not, I hope it's just some odd thing that can be fixed with a minimal amount of trouble.

The problem is something that only happens ever 10-20(really rough estimate) opening cycles. The lock sticks open to the point where it takes a concentrated effort on my part, using both hands, to get the blade to fold back down. Normally, it is nice and smooth and works beautifully, but every once in a while it sticks like this. I find this to be unacceptable, but if there is a quick fix or if it's a warranty issue then I wouldn't really have a problem with it.

Thanks for your input.

Hi Tique!

My first Sifu did that, and I used White Lightning in the Rolling Lock, and it was smooth ever since. Probably some gun grease would work, but I was a little worried that lint and stuff from carrying it around in my pockets would gunk it up easier, so I went with White Lightning.

My Sifu did that when it was new. I found it wore in just like Axis locks do, i.e., it would stick sometimes, esp. when opened quickly. If you bought the knife unused and haven't had it long, give it a few days of constant opening and closing and it should smooth out.

Sounds like a plan, I'll drop some Militec in there and play with it for the next week or so and see what happens.
