Ron Hood has passed away

Apparently he died in his sleep last night. He was just at Blade and some of you had your photo taken with him.

My condolences to his family.

Very sad to hear about his death, my prayers are with his family. I got a chance to talk to him at the Buck booth for about 5 minutes. He was showing off his knife. He seemed liked a really nice guy. Here is a picture of him at the Buck Annual BCCI meeting showing off his knife.

I had a chance to spend some quality time with Ron as we traveled together to Oregon for a Cabelas grand opening and then to Blade show. He was a really fun to be around. He had spent most of his time working with the engineers but now that we were starting to promote the products and his brand, he was traveling more with me. I will tell you a story he related while at Blade show. He was talking about his son Jesse (7 yrs old) and said that Jesse and a few of his buddies would seek Ron out and Jesse would have some bugs in his hand. In front of Jesse's incredulous friends Ron would pick through the bugs and eat a couple. What kind of a cool hero dad is that. Jesse...your dad was a really cool dude. Hang in there and take good care of your mom.

That's a shame---he seemed like a nice guy who enjoyed life, and those traits are more rare than they should be.
