So, has anyone ever used Rough Rider Arrowhead Throwing Knives? I'm interested in getting a few, but can't find any reviews or feedback on them. Found 1 post where someone mentioned they were a bit soft, but thats it. Just curious and trying to figure out if there a good option. Thanks.

That would be me. They are good throwers, but they are a bit on the soft side when considering how they ground the tip. The tip is really sharp and pointy. I have more or less had to put new points on them with a file. (and that was a dozen of them)

Also the scales are falling off of all of them, I gotta epoxy them back on.

Over all ok throwers, but you gotta do a lot of work on them to keep them in one piece. (But I was out at SMKW and they told me that they will cover the warranty on them.)

Never tried one my self but I found a few reviews that might help. Most any Thrower that has a scale is going to take some maintaining. I am not a big fan of Stainless Steel for throwers either. They look good when new but have a greater rate of failure I think.

PoorThis knife looks great and feels great until you throw it. I had just bought it new and went out to throw it and my first throw the tip bent in almost a complete circle and i was just throwing it into a tree the problem with this knife is the tip is not strong.

Fairly good knife

Fairly good knifeA good knife for throwing, but you must grind roughly the tip to another shape otherwise it will bend very soon (the tip is too thin).

I got one. What else can I say? The tip bent on misses, and it broke after ~20 throws. To be fair, however, I WAS throwing at 1 inch oak plywood. I stuck a new edge on it and it works great.

(PS. The scales will fall off. Prepare to have to peen your own pins to get them back on.)

I have been a fan of throwing knives for many years - i have some Rough Rider throwing knives - I replaced the scales & pined them - I do this on all my throwing knives that don't come pinned - Now my old Tru-Balance - never had to touch them but i paid more dollars for them also - I have a beautiful mint 2 knife set of Case throwing knives in my personal collection - when i get time I'll take a pix & post it - tom

I just currently bought 6 of these knives they feel really good in the hand and they throw very well too. alot of people are complaining about the tips but mine seem to be holding up quite well I threw them for over an hour today and no bends the handles on the other hand are starting to get loose so tonight I am taping them with electrical tape this should fix the problem every knife I have had with wood handles have had to be taped so no big deal over all this is a pretty good knife I got mine at www.bladematrix.com for 7.35 a piece which is a litttle cheaper than smkw. I hope this has helped out
