Roughing up CF

I am thinking about acquiring a Carbon Fiber Civilian in the near future. I was wondering if there was someone out there who could texturize the left scale to a rougher state. What kind of texture can CF take on? Can it feel like the G-10 on most production knives?

Where should I go or who should I contact? How much should I expect to pay for a procedure like this?

TOTC, try out the CF Civie before you commit to have the left side scale texturized. The shape and thickness of the radiused handle may provide you with the necessary gripping for your uses. I like the feel of the CF version better than the G-10 version of the Civilian.

Ironically, although the CF version is probably seen by most as a collector piece, it's, imo, more carry-friendly than the G-10 version (smoother insertion and extraction into and out of your pocket with less wear on you clothing). It's classy, 3D-woven-CF appearance make it also look less menacing.

toothed,

Thanks for the suggestion. I would certainly wait a while after getting the CF Civilian before finalizing the decision to do something like this. I wouldn't want to regret a hasty decision so a lot of handling of the knife would certainly be in order.

You've pegged down part of the reason I'm interested in it over the G-10 version: smoother draw and insertion with less wear on clothing. I've really come to enjoy the smooth draw of my SS Police compared to the rough draw of my Lil Temperance.

Another reason I want the CF version in addition to my recently acquired aluminum version is because the clip is switchable to tip-up carry: a big plus in my book.
