Here's what I've come up with.

On this nessmuk - sold this morning:

...I did something a little different with the spine.

The blue areas are rounded - for comfort. The "hump" is rounded for drawknife or ulu type cutting.

The red areas are left "square" - with a slight burr each side. The middle part is good for striking a firesteel; and the tip - for drilling/digging.

Well, what do you guys think?

Dan

I really like that idea. Especially if it were integrated with the swedge like grind you are doing with mine.

Yes - that is certainly a possibility. I can easily hit the spine again on the belt after the swedge is put on - to give it a burr.

Seems like a good idea--do you happen to have a spine shot, or is it something that's not particularly visible?

I like it. I was bummed recently when I got a Busse Game warden and found almost no place on it except the edge was sharp enough to spark a firesteel:rolleyes:

Do my "runner up edition" of this morning's knife... just as shown above please......

Thank you sir ........;)

ALL nessmuks will now come this way.

Learn something new everyday, right?

thanks guys....won't mean if thing if it doesn't work right, though. :D

No pressure, jgkelly....:D  :p
