RR: Eickhorn EH3 Elishewitz

I havent seen one in person yet, but I know what you mean. Alot of the cutlery coming out of Germany these days is not so great (hasnt been in a long time). You can still find quality knives sometimes, but attention to fit, finish is not what it use to be on many. I know much of the steel used in production knives from over there for years now (?), has been 420.
If someone tries one it would be interesting to find out. Personally I cant bring myself to try one, as good as they look.

I've seen these in person, in two sizes. Curiously, they were sold as Ruko knives, branded with the Fox name, and came from Italy. Prices were the same as that site for the larger size. They opened smoothly, and felt good in my hand, but the locks on the smaller models uniformly became loose in a firm grip. The larger models didn't seem to have this problem. I think it was because the slit that allowed the liner to bend to become the lock was cut too wide, and the locking tab had too much back-to-front flex. All of the knives I saw were marked as First Production Run, and numbered. No mention of steel beyond "440".
