Is the new steel on the military supossed to be more corrosion resistant or to hold edge better because took mine out even with tuff cloth coating and wammo spots of rust very small but still there....maybe tuff cloth wore of knife never been totaly soaked only cariied in pocket not waistband??? questions
how do I get it off 2. should i use marine tuff cloth??? I head rust spots can be taken off with pencil eraser....Thanks

Murray,
Multi purpose erasers like the kind the knife catalogs and the Knife Center sell will remove rust but can smudge the metal. I would try using a metal polish like Metal-Glo and see if you can buff it out. I would then saturate the blade with a rust inhibitor like Tuf-Glide or Break Free, etc.

Any metal can rust, even 440v---but try to remove the spots as they probably are just in the surface right now.

Good luck!

Murray,

I experienced this on my old model, but no on my new(not yet anyway). I used the Tuf-cloth and a stiff bristle tooth brush and off it came. I also learned to keep it wiped down as it was(still is) my primary carry, and in the heat of TX and Korea I was prone to sweating quite a bit.
Here in WA. no problems as yet, though I still wipe it down frequently.
