Salsas come with a plain handle & one with the pepper on it.
How many made of each? Are the 2 variations available in all colors?
The plain handled one i have seen is made in Taiwan are the ones with the pepper on the handle made there too?
Any other sydercos made there?
How is their quality?
thanks,Regards,Rick.

Hey Rick,

I have some answers for you but not all...

I have been told and seen only black and blue Salsas with out the pepper. (and of course Titanium)

All Salsas were made in Taiwan, I believe this is the only Spyderco made there. The quality is just like any other Spyderco.. Top notch.. Don't let it's size fool you.. One tough little bugger.. A little big knife with a compression lock. :)

The Salsa comes in:

Blue
Black
Cranberry
Grey/Purple (Some people say it looks purple)
Green
Titanium

Hope this helps.

The only Salsa I have left in my collection is the Titanium version. For one thing it has a little better blade steel with ATS-34. The lock is much stronger. And the Titanium itself is much more corrosion resistant that the other Salsas. I have 2 left and they are permanent fixtures in my collection.

I kind of wonder something about the edge varieties. I don't see nearly as many plain edged Salsas as I do combo edges. Does anyone know why?

I have noticed this as well JD.... Most of my Salsas are CE.. I just thought it was bad luck...

The only thing that comes to mind is....Since the Salsa was not made in SE..They figured they would produce more CE blades for the "SE people".

Other than that, I have no clue. I would think if a knife is in full production and they made lets say, 1,000... They would make 500 PE and 500 CE... But thats just me..
