I'm up to my 'old' tricks again....

Nothing super-extraordinary about this piece, but I really spent time going over the details.

One thing about doing these knives is the time and energy spent is time I am AWAY from ogling even nicer and more ex$pen$ive knives here online.....:D I'm actually saving money!

Lot's of time spent refinishing the blade and beveling the bolsters, as well as my now-familiar 'Lightning Bolt' filework on the blade, with a rounded bevel near the false edge. That's a piece of ebony for the backstrap. I did the skeletonizing on the clip, and THAT has made me smile! ;) This has the cleanest action I've felt yet.

Ok, I'll stop bothering you guys soon with these, but here's my latest:

Looks like you did a real fine job on that. The red spacer and dovetailed bolsters are a nice touch.

Nice job of showing the details in your photos. Nice pink background :p

Very nice again Coop.I really like the file work you did on the liners,it looks first rate.

Thanks again guys!

Keith, this is marked under the LH scale #0402005. It's completed in 4/02 and it is my fifth knife. Signed my name with a vibrating engraver. Who knows who will be looking under there in 200-300 years!

I see a number of these type knives in the latest Cutting Edge catalog with maker's marks on the blades. Maybe that's a thought for me? I'd like to identify them somehow. Whatever.

I'm getting better at the 'filework'. I still have yet to actually use a file (although I have some diamond ones enroute) but I am leaning my technique better for these styles anyway. The blades are already hardened, so it's mandatory to use stone burrs. Careful measurement with layout ink and lots of magnification to work close! I like doing it, but it is hair-raising because of the propensity to make a dire mistake!!!

Looking good Coop. You're coming right along. I just looked at your photo album too. There's a bunch of them, but I didn't see mine in there.

Sorry Terry, I sold it on eBay right after you delivered it to me.... After all, it's mine to do with as I please, eh? Why would you be mad????

NOT!!!!;) :p   :D (he he he! just a poke at another thread!)

Boy, when Tom and Terry both pay you compliments, you're doin' good!! Thanks men!

Terry, I added it in my webpage. It's so nice I have been holding off for a GREAT pictorial shot. I have a good one, though. I'll show the boys tonight the knife pic...
