I just got a 4 x 36 belt sander and am having to constantly adjust the tracking. Even when it is just running by itself the belt starts going off one side, then i get it fixed and it starts going the other way. Is there something else i can adjust besides the tracking knob?

Is the belt tight enough? A loose belt will drift alot.

4 X 36's are notorious for poor tracking, I have never been able to control mine when I am using any pressure at all so light pressure and chase the belt is the rule I guess.
