I have done a lot of searching and have come to find that my next slippie will be a GEC. They seem to be well made but I am only really familiar with Case when it comes to traditional folders. I was looking at the Jacks and the EZ Opens. I have been carrying a Sodbuster Jr, both CV and SS alternating and a SAK Farmer but I really want a good looking quality slippie with either a warnclife or sheepsfoot blade. I have many Case knives that were left to me by my grandfather along with many other brands but he passed away before GEC opened up. It looks to me like a brand he would have loved. Any insight wil be greatly appreciated. Thanks for your time guys.

these knives have been made with collectors in mind since they are expensive.however the great construction, fit , finish & most important the usability have made them favorites of people whom desire the best in their personal tools. these people are the same whom want zeiss optics, beretta shotguns,& weatherby rifles. many are produced with only 50 in acertain pattern & handle material. all knives are cataloged in factory records so owners can research the year & how many were made. the performance of the 1095 carbon steel is fantastic easiley placeing performance only a little behind many of the super alloys. i'm sorry to add i have'nt tested the 440c models due to my adversion to earlier performance of this steel.as to patterns available gec rather writes it own rules not to say they counterfeit others but the models are a little difficult to describe using traditional pocket knife terminology.users that just want a realiable tool usually look elsewhere & thats certainly their perogitive. users whom desire a beautifal, finely constructed, personal carry knife are the people this product targets.i should have said that in a particular run only the 1st 50 will be serial numbered. i'm sorry to imply that a run might always only have 50 pieces.sorry for the incorrect info.

Hak, the #25 pattern jacks and EZs are great, but really small at 3" closed. They now have a wonderful Furtaker pattern (moose with a Wharncliffe blade on one end) on their 4-1/8" equal end frame. In antique green bone it's to die for.

Thanks guys. I really appreciate the help. Mamba I was actually looking for a smallish slippie. I always carry a clipped knife in my left front pocket and my sodbuster in my right front pocket. I like the have a non-threatening looking blade on me at all times as well as something that makes people go "Dang that is one good looking knife" Which of the two has the lowest profile? I am guessing the EZ does. I may just have to get both though.
