I am using a 2x72 Fine scotchbrite belt that has become gunked up with stuff, like Micarta brass you name it. Can this be cleaned out? Maybe Acetone??? Any help is appreciated

WD-40 cures most everything. I wouldn't be surprised if this could be added to the list. Best of Luck. Terry

Had the same problem with a fine scotchbrite belt. Don't know of anyway to really clean it but holding a steel bristle brush lightly against it seem to help. They do wear out so I put some green compound on it and use it on a blade after I use the new scotch brite belt I bought. leaves a cloudy but smoother finish.??

Try TFL 30
you can take a worn 400 belt if you are useing AO belt and spray it with it and you can turn a 400 to about an 800 grit
I have came of a 400 then taken a old 400
and almst take out all the scratches, you can almost to to final finish buff.TFL is great for cleaning everthing
