I saw that SAS soldier thing about the screwdrivers. so today i went outside and threw some screwdrievrs into an archery target. Let me tell you its easier to figure out how to throw these than knives.

Anyone else throw screwdrivers?

As a small child I tried to use everything I could find for throwing and some screwdrivers (especially the cheap ones in case you messed up or lost them) were very useful in this regard. I found that as long as the center of balance (as felt by trying to balance the screwdriver on your finger, for example) was within the middle 1/3 of the tool, you could use it quite nicely. Good idea to test and try; anything that works!

Red: This guy( possible SAS) could throw anything. What is unique, is that stores often have knives locked up, but screwdrivers or not. It also a thought that the # one 'edged' weapon used ,has killed officers in the past is the screwdriver( Stat from a few years ago).

Think screwdrivers are easy?

Stop over at the local grocery store and pick up a pack of inexpensive metal 9" barbecue skewers. Throw those--you'll stick almost every one every time with a basic throw.

Don't get the longer, 11" ones--they bend from the snap after a couple of throws.

I used to throw them as a kid myself. but mainly into the ground. But either way they were pretty easy to use

I used to throw nearly everything. My favorite for many years was a very large screwdriver. Not only could I stick it nearly every time, but it would go far into the hay bale.

Now my favorite is a PJ Tomes Throwing Bowie with a Kenny Rowe sheath. It is large / long, heavy, wickedly sharp / pointed and throws extremely well. If it weren't for the cost, I'd have a couple more made and take it hog hunting. I think it would do its job if I did mine.

Just FYI: My next favorite throwing knives weren't actually throwing knives. They were some Gerber Guardian I's that I practiced with like crazy throwing into hay bales and with which I actually got pretty decent. I never had much luck with the short lightweight "throwing" knives. I have a decent size Branton thrower that I want to try out one of these days.

I love throwing screwdrivers. It's almost too easy.

You can get them 2 for $1 at the dollar store! They don't last forever, but on average, probably at least 50 throws a piece -- they last longer if you stick them, and don't hit the plastic handle (that's the part that breaks).

I,ve thrown crowbars on occassion , so screwdrivers ? Why not ? I,ve got a long way to go on distances . As far as variety ? I threw a tantrum once ! L:O:L
