Search forum not working??

Can someone explain why the "search forum" almost never seems to work.

The reason for asking is I was thinking about upgrading my membership to a paying member, however if this is normal operating (not working) then this site's usefulness in my opinion is not worth the money.

Not looking to ster the pot just looking for a honest answer.

Most of the information in link I was aware of, but being "creative" with my searchers might be the key....time to try it out.

There is such a large amount of info on this forum, that you have to narrow down the search as much as possible- By forum and/or thread titles.
