I picked up my new LG Sebenza yesterday and have two questions.
1. How do you tell it's DOB? all I can see is C 99 engraved insde each handle.
2. My Sebenza has both clip mods a shallow cut out under the clip on the OD and two deep semi circles on the ID, has anyone else seen this?
Ill try and post pics Monday.

Jerry,

Question 1...If your Sebenza did not come with its papers you will not know the the date. But because yours is the new style you can be sure that its only a few months old at best. The C99 you see is just a batch # to keep track of the handles as they are made.

On question 2...The cut out under the clip along with the two groove cutouts on the inside is the new style now being made.

Keith,
Thanks alot. Another question, how long after you get a Sebenza does it take before you can put it down

If I could answer that I'd tell you how many licks it took me to get to the tootsie pop.

It's only a mistake if you fail to learn from it!

Look in the bottom of you box, under the foam peanuts. There should be a small card in there with the date of manufacture, Rockwell hardness and Chris's signature.

When did your dealer receive the knife? The DOB should be just a few days before it was received. My last batch came in on Jan 23, 2000 and the DOB is Jan 20, 2000.

The cutout under the clip is a clearance cut to reduce the wear and tear on the pocket from clip carry.

I just realized who I'm talking to.

Jerry, your knife was received on Tuesday, March 7. I didn't look at the card but I expect the date to be March 2 or 3, 2000. If you want I can call Bridget and find out for sure but the card was in the box, all the way at the bottom.

PS: Heed the potty advice.

Thanks for the potty advice can't afford to loose anything there

Dennis, I guess I lost that card the only thing besides the packing material and hex key I found was a paper on the care and feeding of my sebenza and telling me it's "SHARP" man is it ever. But the DOB isn't that important to me now that I understand how it's documented.
Praise God I was able to leave it cliped to my waistband while attending Church this morning but had to play with it all the way home
