Hello Gentleman just wanted to add my .02 cents on my feeling re: a checkpoint I went thru yesterday & a few other things.

Now I've been listening & hearing how the US is at a greater risk for a terrorist attack. More than likely because of the 10th anniversary of 9/11 coming up in 7 months. Being in a city that felt the wrath of the terror these savages unleashed. Shedding tears after watching the WTC collapse from my buildings rooftop. I feel some sort of need for the added security. Aside from that I do not see it necessary for bags to be searched by police on our subways. I really would feel safer if they had more bomb sniffing dogs.Thats just my opinion although I'm sure many would agree with me.

I'm a Art Handler/ Truck driver & yesterday I had to deliver 29 paintings to an Artist who lives walking distance from ground zero. I also had some commercial bins & a crate in the box of my truck. I was very unhappy when I was pulled over at the checkpoint. Now don't get your panties in a bunch I wasn't upset because I was pulled over. I welcomed it. I was upset at how easily it was for me to pass through it. I'm a firm believer in if you're gonna do something do it right.

Here's what happened when I was pulled over. I was approached by 1 officer I gave my partner the key to unlock the rear of the truck. The officer asked for my ID. I then handed him my license. He wrote down some info. My partner had the rear door opened & the officer just glanced in the vehicle & said "Ok you're good". wtf was that? He didn't ask for any documentation/ paperwork to what I was carrying. He didn't get on board the vehicle.

To me that's a little scary. I mean you see the Hercules Units hopping out of vans with the satellite dishes on top armed to the teeth. At a checkpoint I feel they need to be a little tedious. I'm not bashing the NYPD they do a pretty good job. NYC is a business 1st. So they have to write tickets & mess with the working man instead of catching real criminals who wont pay the damn fine in the 1st place, but thats an unfortunate part of their job.
I just wanted to share this with the community & here some of my fellow forumites feedback. Thanks in advance
