Saw Paul Sorvino yesterday at a restaurant in Jersey, I couldn't remember his name or what he was in so I was a little embarrased to walk up and say anything, also I figured he was out for lunch and probably didn't want to be bothered.

Eventually a waitress approached him and he confirmed his identity.

Anyone else ever see or meet someone famous?

In my travels I have bumped into or met
Oprah
Ralph Lauren
Jim Davis ( of garfield the cat fame)
Robert Plant
Muhammed Ali (actually sat on his deck sipping lemonade with the man it was a great experience)

I actually spent the day with the entire cast of Oceans Eleven. Bunch of nice people. I also was assigned to Muhammad Ali years ago. Make sure he was escorted to his seat for a fight, then to the party then to his room after the party and was actually invited in to spend time with him. Funny man, loved to play jokes and do magic. I have met several others but these are the ones that stick out.
Tonight I have to provide Security for a VIP after party for the Billboard Music Awards. Confirmed attendees so far are Usher, Outcast, Nelly, Magic Johnson, Marcus Allen and others that I don't even have a clew who they are. Needless to say, this is NOT my type of music so I will be more than glad when this night is over. I am quite sure, that by the end of the night everyone one attending will tell me "how important" they are and be pi$$ed off when they are not on the Guest List.

The most famous person i've met is Ron Jeremy. Turned out there was a sexpo in Sydney, Australia and he was staying in the same hotel. So i went to his room to get a photo taken.

I've seen other stars at premieres and shows and all but no one i just bumped into.

That story's just BEGGING for a punchline, Point44. :D

Al Kooper - Cheesecake Factory in Austin

The Sandra Bullock sighting was at Barnes and Noble in Austin...she's not real attractive off-screen.

C'mon guys, I used to live in Tribeca two blocks away from Robert Dinero and Harvey Keitel. A spring day's stroll up West Broadway always means running into half a dozen stars.

My list:

Tom Waits (at a bar in Santa Rosa CA)
Boz Scaggs (at a club in S.F.)
Don Adams aka Maxwell Smart (related by marriage)
Richard Nixon

While working in high school as a busboy at a restaurant next to Merriweather Post Pavilion:

Polly Holiday (aka "Flo")
The Blues Brothers
April Wine
Mac Davis (he got thrown out)
Elvis Costello
Bonnie Raitt
James Taylor

I was fortunate enough to meet and work with one of my heroes - aviation legend “Chuck” Yeager - when I was stationed at the Flight Test Center at Edwards AFB. Also got to meet Burt Rutan working in support of some joint projects between the AF and Scaled Composites, LLC in nearby Mojave. Met other aviation greats Pete Knight (former X-15 pilot and winged powered flight speed record holder), Jeana Yeager, and Sally Ride during my stay also. Did the meet and greet with General Norman Swartzkopf and shared a guest of honor table at an Army dinner with Collin Powell back when he was a Lt. General.

Met and rode with Greg Lemond in 1983 and then Lance Armstrong last October in Austin’s Ride for the Roses. Cheryl, Robin Williams, and Will Farrell were all in the ride also.

Lance is the Dude!!!

"Jenna Bush - bar sighting (I'm not kidding)"

That's too funny!

I met Curly Neal - former Harlem Globetrotter - when I was trying to repo his stuff from Rent A Canter (not kidding!), the former Drug Czar, Bob Martinez at a wedding, saw Britney Spears & Justin Timberlake at a stake house in Orlando, Travolta at Disney & used to see Bruce Springsteen all the time when I lived in NJ many years ago...

I can't believe nobody else has come up with this one.

My Wife, Morgan Fairchild. Yeah, that's the ticket! :p :D

My list, mostly walk-by's:

Mick Jagger
Elizabeth Taylor
Nastassia Kinski
Quincy Jones
Brian Setzer
Slash (rode in an elevator with him at the NY Museum of Natural History!!!)
G.E. Smith (we're stretching the term "star" here)
Vernon Reid

rode a plane back to Chas WV with Bob Denver ("Gilligan), very down to earth guy, had a nice suv pick him up.

Jimi Hendrix at a party in San Antonio..
Vincent Price at Hemisfair 68 in S.A.
Hubert Humphrey, in Guam, when he was coming back from China.
John Glenn, at Wilford Hall Hospital, Lackland AFB, TX.
Jimmy Vaughan, along with a bunch of other musicians, played at my brother's wedding reception...
Don Rickles and Don Adams at the Playboy Club in Denver. Yes there was one once...
John Astin, Peter Ustinov, Keenan Wynn, Harry Morgan, Jonathan Winters.
Big John Hamilton and John Wayne at Big John's Restaurant.

Bob Engnath... A great person.

Howie

B.B. King and J. Geils on a plane
Ted Lange (Isaac on the "Love Boat") in a store where I worked.
Mr. T while driving on the freeway.
Merideth Baxter-Birney at a music store.
David Birney and James Whitmore Jr while filming a TV movie (I was a wounded soldier.)
Erik Estrada and Larry Wilcox numerous times (filming "CHiPs" around my hometown.)

I've seen:

Ric Flair: Charlotte-Douglas Airport

Rock Newman: JFK Airport

Robert Klien: Vietnam Memorial Washington, DC

Kirsti Alley & Parker Stevenson: An excellent lobster house in Maine

Bobby Jones (Former Tar Heel All-American, Olympian, NBA All-Star): Twice at different times and places

My wife is a flight attendant so the list of celebs is long but here's a sample:

Ali, Neil Young, Lucy, Andy Griffith, Dr. J, Phil Ford, Rather, Brokaw, Oprah etc....

I saw former Secretary of Defense Caspar Weinberger in an airport. He was sitting with his wife, reading a magazine. A guy walked up to him and said, "I voted for your boss twice". Cap said, "Yeah...me too." Then went back to reading his paper.

That's it. I haven't spent much time where celebrities would be and probably wouldn't recognize a lot of them if I did.

I got invited to a "Star Christening" on Hollywoods walk of fame next January for my uncle, Soupy Sales.

Saw "Wojohowitz", Max Gail, from "Barney Miller" on an airplane trip.

When my wife and I were youngsters in L.A. we used to cruise LAX on foot and see if we knew anyone coming in from Tucson. While doing so I spotted songwriter Paul Williams (he is quite short) walking to a curbside Limo smoking a big stogie. As my wife and I were fans at the time I said "Look over there". She turned and was aghast to se a "kid" smoking a cigar. I had to explain who it was.

Hehe-nobody lately, other than various high-rent politicos during the debate.

We used to frequent a bar owned by a St. Louis icon of sorts, Frank Moskus. He had all sorts of Hollywood types he knew, and they'd drop in occasionally.
Darin McGavin, Pernell Roberts (Adam Cartwritght) Khai Dee (oriental heavy who was in nearly everything...Kung Fu, Hawaii 5-0).

A number of musicians playing various gigs at the university here- "Mahavishnu" John Mclaughlin, Steve Earle, B.B. King.
