Hello. I'm a knife fanatic (especially about ballisong/butterfly knives, as you can probably tell), and I have a question. I found a nice italian site that will ship switchblades and any other knives to any part of the world. I live in Canada, so I was wondering:

If I bought the switchblades from the site, and they were shipped to Canada, would they be seized at the border???

If you have an answer, please email it to me: pyro_peewee@hotmail.com, because I won't be checking these threads for a while.

Thanks.

In a short answer, yes, they will most likely be seized.

That's my mentality at least. I live in BC, and have had a fair bit of trouble with customs on even knives that can be flicked open. It's a bit of a gamble to say the least.

On the other hand, I've gotten blowguns across the border just fine and other knives that could be flicked open. Never tried an automatic knife though. The amounts I spend on knives now just would not make it feasible.

My friend was able to get a balisong across the border, but my advice is this:

If you're prepared to lose it, try it, but if you don't want to waste the money, stick with legal knives.
