Anyone know anything about these Offerings from Seki-cut (seki-direct)? These are not the same as the the Seki-cut knives designed by Lum+Ralph et al; but the ones labled as Hattori, Hiro, Hara, Saji, and Masahiro. Some of them apear to be customs, wile others are priced as if they are production knives, anyone have some info?

I am particularly interested in the Hattori (i am guessing production) and the Saji (custom?).

I have had the opportunity to handle one of Hattori's damascus hunters and it was a beautiful knife. I would say it's quality was right up there with a high percentage of the custom knives on the market and much better than some. This should be the case as this knife had a price of $600.00/US. It had excellent fit and finish, felt great in the hand and was stunning to look at.

Hello, I too can speak to Hattori's quality. I own a very nice large fighter, their folding hunter lockback which I consider one of my better buys, and a large stainless and ebony dagger. The workmanship is as Keith said..right up ther with most customs and better than some. The folder I mentioned is just a great knife, beautiful coco scales, bank vault lock up, excellent finish.. I was truly impressed with all three when I received them.. By the way, worldknives.com has the best selection of Hattori products I have seen with the exception of their chef's knifes which are also highly touted. For the chef knives, Blade Gallery seems to always have some on hand.. I don't think you'll be disappointed with a Hattori...Rich
