The answer to the first two questions are: no, this was not done by Emerson, and no, the conversion is not available for everyone. It was a special request for my birthday from my knifemaking mentor.

Here are the details:
Linen micarta scales
416 stainless bolsters and spine
Filework on spine
Blued and jeweled liners
satin finish on bolsters

The knife is so delicious you should just show it to the enemy, dogman. Then just stab him at your leisure since he won't be defending. He'll just be looking.

Oh chucks!

Now i "need" one of those too!
Very beautiful, i can do with out the filework, but i will get one with bolsters!
The filework is VERY nice, but i prefer a less "flashy" knife.
Whoa, i'm impressed!

I love the handle. If you know of anyone who could do a similar handle style for a production CQC7 let me know.

Thanks

That's the best looking cqc7 I've ever seen... whoever did that should consider doing them for the public....

Hey, Spark.
The knife was done for me by Mike Smith, who is also teaching me to make knives. It was done to my specs. His work is very high end and it would not be cost effective for him to convert production knives. For the same amount of time and effort it took to customize this knife, he could make a $1500 folder. It is a definite pleasure to have this great piece, and I carry it every day, while the CQC6 sleeps gently in the knife case...
