I recieved this Canal Street 1/2 Moon Trapper in 14-4 CrMo

I noticed that the frist 3/4" of the blade to the tip was bent

Send it in to Canal for fixing?

What do you advise?

Agreed...that's not right.

If you got it from a dealer, the simplest thing would be to exchange it for another. If you're attached to this knife, or you don't want to risk receiving a replacement with inferior scales, contact the manufacturer for advice about sending it in to be repaired. They should do it for free.

Absolutely send it in for repair or exchange it.

That is WAY beyond acceptable

It appears to me as if it was probably rubbing the liner due to not falling centered and their idea of a fix was to bend the last 30% back into the center. No sense in keeping something like that.

Surely not!

I know I know...don't call me Shirley....:D

No way that would pass in my standards.

I'd have to either take it back or send it back to Canal Street.

This is about a $50 - 60 knife. If it doesn't effects its use and if you can't tell its bent without comparing it to the liners, I'd suggest living with it rather than shipping it from Israel to US.

I don't think he will have any problems telling that the blade is bent when opened..

Even though he doesn't live in the states, he shouldn't have to pay the return shipping for something like that.

I have written to Canal Street.

Very polite.
They will replace the blade
I will ship it to them tomorrow

Hopefully I will be in the US at the end of the month, and they will send it to me there.
Or they will send it to me in Israel

thanks for your inputs
