im getting a bk2 soon and would like your input on a good sheath to compliment this great knife. i would like for it to have a good sized pouch to fit a small kit, along with a fire steel and a sharpening stone. i was thinking the spec ops combat master looked like a great candidate for my desires but i would like a bigger pouch if its out there. also does the esse sheath work with the bk2? your feed back is always appreciated.

It's more expensive but I would get the ESEE pouch and MOLLE backing and stick with the glass filled nylon until you upgrade to kydex.

GODSPEED here on the forums is great!

godspeedtactical.com/

Also, GODSPEED has one of the best "warrenty" programs you will find out there!

Hey if your intrested I make a kydex sheath with leather scout and loop attachments, check out my photo examples up on Bk and t forum.

The ESEE kydex won't fit the BK2, the reason I recommended the ESEE pouch and MOLLE backing is because they do (and they match your criteria for the large pouch), and most Kydex benders make their sheaths to fit them as well, so it would be a seamless transition/upgrade from stock BK2 sheath, to semi custom, to Kydex with ESEE parts, to whatever you want. I do recommend GodSpeed! or AzWelke or ThrillBilly, and The 710s Kydex doesn't look half bad.

Or, you could go leather, but you said you want large pouches, which is why the ESEE pouch works great.

+1 for this.

I have not ordered one of GODSPEED's pouch sheaths yet but for $35-$40 you really can't go wrong! GODSPEED is SUPER easy to deal with and normally ships out within a few days. The main reason I say GODSPEED would be your best bet is because of how great he is to work with.

I had some problems with a Kydex sheath he made me and he ended up making me a brand new one for free.

This is my BK2 sheath from emcarrol (still registered here, but not sure if he's still making sheaths. Look him up if interested and ask though. Good guy):

And these are for my Machax BK4 from The 710. (Sorry JD, haven't taken any of my own pics yet)

The 710 does BK2's also, just thought I'd give you a current example of his work. (Just got this one yesterday.)

BTW, the above BK2 one is a hybrid sheath. Kydex wrapped in leather. Awesomely functional piece.

There are several outstanding sheath-makers here. MyWifeThinksImCrazy and Skystorm do awesome leather work, and as others have said, Godspeed, Thrillbilly and azwelke all do great Kydex work. Check 'em all out.

Hope that helps.
