Knife people-

I have to make some room in my shop, so the following items are for sale:

Craftsman 6x48 belt/disk sander (9” disk), all cast iron, with stand - $100
Atlas horizontal mill (model MF), with stand and some tooling - $500
Milwaukee die filer with an assortment of files - $200
Craftsman 1x42 belt/disk sander (6”disk) - $60

Here’s the rub- unless you want to pay for labor to haul it up the stairs and crate it for shipping, you have to come get it (Detroit area). Bring help. If someone wants the whole lot, you can have it for $750.

Take care!! Michael

Always think of your fellow knife makers as partners in the search for the perfect blade, not as people trying to compete with you and your work!

Michael,
A die filer is a person that puts the dies in the proper folders in the proper drawers

.
It's a machine with hole in the center of a table. It takes various files and moves them up and down in the center of the hole, sort of like a scroll saw. It's used for putting relief and odd shapes in dies. I used one about 25 years ago when I did my machinist apprenticeship. They have mostly been replaced by CNC equipment and EDM's. It would be a neat machine to have but I'm too far from Detroit !
