Short quick release?

So for my Rambler and/or small keychain knife which I keep on my keyring, I'd like to use some quick release feature so I can get them off the ring quickly and in use. I currently use a #1 S-biner clip, but it adds quite a bit of length (~1.5") and my Rambler sometimes manages to meander it's way off. Any ideas of trick or other devices to try?

I use the mini clips that stjames suggested. they work very well. I haven't had one accidentally unclip on me yet. I use one to attach my car key to my main key ring because the extra weight from my keys was messing up the ignition switch.

I acutally keep one or two on my key ring so that I can temporarily attach other stuff like and extra set of keys or small knife.

I use one of these to clip my keys to a belt loop. Similar design, but larger SSsnaphook I've had it for over 25 years and haven't had any problems.
