ShortNess - new nessmuk design - whatcha think?

I've had this kicking around in my head for a while...and finally put it down to paper today.

Specs:

3.5" blade
4" handle with 2 pins and a 5/16" lanyard
7.5" overall


The first ones will be made from 3/32" 1095. Eventually, I'll probably do some in thin CPM154 and/or thick CPM 3V. :eek:


Let me know what you think of the design.

Here's a picture of my regular sized nessmuk (top) to show comparison.

I glued my CAD drawing to a piece of cardboard of approx equal thickness. ;)

Have no idea...depends on how long it takes for my "other stuff" to get back to me. I might still be knee-deep in BushMasters by Blade Show time....:o

I like it!!! I have large paws so a slightly longer handle would be appreciated, but I want one anyway.
 
I like it and would certainly pick one up. A flat grind would also be nice.

I think these would be great in your oversize 1/8" 3V, like you used on the last batch of Bushcrafters. It looks like a real good usable size.
 
Well, I love it! I remember asking if one of these would be made at some point so I'm thrilled lol. If you are making some of these up would it be possible to get on a list to get one? I am on the bushcrafter list, but if I could switch over to this design I'd love it. I know it would be a bit before delivery, but I'm fine with that. If this is possible let me know and I'll PP the money as long as it will be in the same neighborhood as the bushcrafter cost.

Good job, size is exactly what I was looking for in this design. :thumbup:

Yep, go for it. I just got the tiny Ramanon 'muk today and I think its size is great for me. But you know about us Americans, we like choices!
 
Very nice, Dan. I'm pumped about my incoming Bushmaster, but your Nessmuks are definitely my favorite style that you make!

I agree a ShortNess run in 2010 would be outstanding. I'm in on this years Bushcraft run and would love to get in on a run of the ShortNess. This year it would probably be tough for me as I have several knives on order or preorder, but I could definitely be in on a run in '10.
