Anybody know what the law is regarding non-citizens purchasing firearms? I am a permanent resident (green card holder as my wife is a citizen). Since moving to Texas I have been bitten by the duck hunting bug and am ready to buy a 12ga. One person told me it s a no no another said no problem, wondered if anyone out there has any experience/ TIA

Unless the State has some weird restrictions, it should be no problem. The Bill of Rights is for everyone, not just citizens. Good luck and good shooting!

I don't think there will be any problem at all. I am an FFL dealer here in Texas, and if you have your credentials showing yourself as a resident alien, you can buy a shotgun if you want. It only take a minute to get yourself run through NICS.

I am an avid Texas duckhunter, and I live for duck season. Good luck on finding your shotgun.

Thanks guys.
Rattler I know what you mean dude - last season was my first and i was hooked. It helped that I had a long time hunter to show me the ropes and great weekend in Rockport shooting from out of the bay!

I found a used Remington 1100 3" magnum in mint condition and i want to run and get it.:D
